Closures

Acorn Early Education Centre is open Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm year round, with the exception of Statutory Holidays, a winter break, and a few Professional Development Days per year (which coincide with the West Vancouver School District).

September 2026 to August 2027

  • September: Labour Day (Sept 7), Acorn Professional Development Day (Sept 26), and National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (Sept 30).

  • October: Thanksgiving Day (Oct 12).

  • November: Remembrance Day (Nov 11), Professional Development Day (TBA)

  • December: Holiday Break begins December 24; includes Christmas Day (Dec 25) and Boxing Day (Dec 26).

  • January: New Year’s Day (Jan 1 - final Holiday Break day).

  • February: Acorn Professional Day (Feb 12) and Family Day (Feb 15).

  • March: Good Friday (March 26 and Easter Monday March 29).

  • May: Victoria Day (May 24) and a Professional Development Day (TBA).

  • July: Canada Day (July 1).

  • August: BC Day (Aug 2) and Maintenance Day (TBA).

On rare occasions an emergency closure may be necessary due to extreme weather conditions or interrupted power or water supply. We follow the West Vancouver School District’s weather advisories, and we will close should Westcot Elementary School deem it necessary to close, as they are our neighbours. Parents/guardians will be notified of emergency closures as soon as possible.
